Let’s Make Kate Blanchett Truffles
So how hard can this really be? I was amazed to find out that I could make truffles from ingredients I had around the house. With the Oscars coming up this weekend I wanted to theme my party and my food. So here we go Truffles with blanched almonds and a few others to make it more interesting.
To make the ganache, mix Dark chocolate, butter and salt into a glass bowl. Heat cream to a simmer and pour over the chocolate mixture. Let it set for about 5 minutes. Stir until the chips are dissolved. Add in flavorings and chill for 3 hours.
Scoop small balls out of the mixture and form into a ball. This is where I have a little fun. Use caramel apple dip centers and cover with ganache. Chill for one hour. Roll the balls in crushed almonds and serve in a small desert foil.
These are really amazing and something everyone will love. Experiment with fillings, flavorings and coatings. Once mine are finished I like to top them off with a little Wilton edible glitter or gold dust. They are decadent and no one will believe you have make them yourself.
